Grassed up to the DVLA?

The law states you only have to be seizure free for a YEAR. In fact, people who have seizures only in their sleep do not even have that limit imposed on them. I missed appointments due to being to busy, not because I have anything to hide. Regardless of how other drivers may view my condition, the DVLA obviously has a more relaxed approach than you discriminatory individuals. In fact, my own consultant was the one pushing me to drive. i told him I'd be afraid of it being epileptic, but he encouraged me by telling me a lot of lorry drivers have epilepsy and I have every right to do so. I'm very surprised by your negativity on here and it says a lot about how uneducated you all are on driving laws. I'm sure my consultant would have written to me if missing my appointment meant he needed to inform the DVLA and the medical secretary told me missed appointments would not merit a third party report anyway.0

This is what can happen when medical professionals put patient confidentiality before safety and fail to report patients with health issues
So now I am being compared to a serial killer because of my illness. Disability discrimination at its finest. We really haven't moved on from the dark ages around here have we?0 -

As someone who has not had a seizure since 2015, I shall be keeping my licence and shall continue to drive perfectly legally in defiance of all you highly discriminatory individuals who clearly have something against epileptics. Read up on the law before you make your narrow minded judgements. I have NOTHING to hide. My biggest gripe is the stamp money I will lose because I certainly won't be losing my licence. Now, I'm sure all of you lot shall be drinking, applying makeup and texting behind the wheel. Something I would never do. In fact, my epilepsy has made me a more cautious driver than most people I know. Consider that before you make your narrow minded assumptions about a stranger.
Which is it? 2014 or 2015 since you had a seizure?
If you don't return the questionnaire, DVLA will most likely revoke your licence.
Remember you don't drive within a vacuum where things you do don't affect others. Ask the relatives of those who died in the Glasgow crash.
A second class stamp is 56p. Why would you risk having your licence revoked for the sake of 56p?
Stop being irrational and be a little more mature about it. It's got nothing to do with discrimination in the sense that you imply it has. The rules are there to protect everyone.0 -

I think you'll find that's a mass murderer, not a serial killer. Important to be precise in these matters
But no, you weren't being compared to them, nor has anyone said you shouldn't drive. Like every other post here you've missed the point (and in your latest rant, the plot).0 -
So was it 2014 or 2015? You're moaning about the cost of a stamp 2nd class is 56p and 1st class is 65p. If you don't return that form DVLA will revoke your licence. I know the epilepsy and driving laws because like i said in my previous post i had my licence taken off me for 9 years! You clearly need to grow up and start thinking about the safety of others and yourself. How do you know it wasn't your consutlant that reported you? You didn't turn up for a very important appointment! It's a very simple form to fill in, i've done it many times. Fill the form in, add a stamp and return it. Simple! I was never once sent for an assessment by DVLA regarding my fitness to drive. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about!MaidMARIAN11 wrote: »You are all very short sighted. I haven't had a seizure since I have had my driving licence. I missed a hospital appointment with my consultant about my epilepsy a while back. Would he have reported this to the DVLA? Or has someone been making malicious stuff up about me? I am offended by this letter. I have to waste money on a stamp now when my health is the same as it was the last time I filled the medical out. Haven't had a seizure since 2014 so I'm fit to drive.
