Some advice please

My hubbies contract come to an end in June. Its really not been cost effective for us. Bsically he probabily sends 15 texts month. PLus he calls me a couple of times on a Vodaphone. Maybe a few other calls but as the familys all on different networks its usually all cross networks. The phone wont be used everyday, but like I said it shall be used. Im hoping not to pay line rental as it just seam worth it (unless its a tiny bit, discounted) any advice please or Payg or normal low user tariffs?
