More good news from the Eurozone.
Frankfurt Emerges as Biggest Banking Winner After BrexitFrankfurt is emerging as the biggest winner from last year’s Brexit vote, with many of the world’s biggest banks choosing to base their new European Union headquarters in the German city.Standard Chartered Plc, Nomura Holdings Inc. and Daiwa Securities Group Inc. have picked Germany’s financial capital for their EU base to ensure continued access to the single market. Citigroup Inc., Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Morgan Stanley are weighing a similar decision, said people familiar with the matter, asking not to be named because the plans aren’t public.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
Not-so-good-news:Roaring euro zone business growth tailed off unexpectedly toward the end of the first half of 2017 following a sudden slowing in the pace of expansion by services firms, a survey showed on Friday.0

Perhaps that will in some way make up for some of the thousands of jobs lost in Germany this week?

Or maybe some of Germany's migrants may at last find work, since it is said that three-quarters will still be out of work in five years time?

Just like the UK, all the roads are not paved in gold.

And the good news from the Eurozone just keeps on coming...
Eurozone economy enjoyed 'best quarter in over 6 years'The economy of the 19-country eurozone has just enjoyed its best quarter for more than six years, according to a closely watched survey.
Though growth eased slightly in June, financial information firm IHS Markit said Friday that the eurozone's second quarter overall looks like it will be its strongest since the first three months of 2011. It expects quarterly growth to be 0.7 percent, up from the previous quarter's 0.6 percent.

Hardly surprising that the increased prospect of the UK staying in the single market has made some service firms more cautious about the extent to which there is a void to be filled.
I still think we'll leave the single market for the record - against my better judgement - but the chances of us doing otherwise have undeniably increased unexpectedly toward the end of the first half of 2017.0 -
Based on the statistics for GDP from the Eurozone we a) wouldn't be allowed to join now so they should be pleased to see us go and b) the eastern European countries are doing so much better that they now don't need to take any money out of the EU and can start paying it in as net contributors so the UK can leave without it causing any problems.0

0.6% the best for 6 years and they're celebrating?
Good grief.
Meanwhile Mr Macron is having a go at those pesky eastern Europeans. Disgraceful xenophobia.

Just think how "shooting themselves in the foot" if they are punitive towards the UK with Brexit will improve that.
Magically.

The irony here of course is if the uk had posted a Q1 growth of 0.6%, rather than the 0.2% posted; you'd be trumpeting it as irrefutable evidence that Brexit was working.
The best analogy I've heard to describe the current state of brexiteers is that they are like a woman who stops taking her contraceptive pill, and the following day is saying how wonderful it is being pregnant...0 -
EU leaders have officially launched the competition between member states to decide which will host two London-based EU agencies, responsible for medicines and banking.
The relocation must take place by the Brexit deadline - 30 March 2019.
Some countries are bidding to host both the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and European Banking Authority (EBA).The EMA's total number of staff in 2015 was 890, while the EBA's was 189. Both are headquartered in Canary Wharf.
The EMA had 36,000 visitors in 2015, and 30,000 hotel nights were booked, the European Council said.
