Didn't bother with this after they asked me to provide proof of identity. Their loss not mine.
  • I applied to open an savings a/c & Ulster Bank messed up & opened three. Consequently I have now had three searches on my credit file with Experian. Didn't realise this would creat problems & have now complained to them & asked for them to be removed but if they are as efficient at this as they were at a/c opening, little hope!

Really concerned and cross about this. My boyfriend and I just opened a joint savings account with Ulster Bank. We do not live together and his credit rating is much better than mine. We do not wish to be financially linked for this reason. Now I'm worried we might be. Never would've applied for this account had we known we would be credit checked - surely they should tell you on the application form if they are going to do this? They certainly didn't tell us

Just checked Credit Club report and yep - hard search by RBS on 19/7. I am specifically trying to ensure no more hard searches on my file as I'm assuming to buy my first property next year. Furious!
  • I had enough of the digital document verification not working, so cancelled as once I needed to jump through lots of hoops to get verified I didn't want to take the risk of a credit file search!

I joined the MSE club to get a free Experian report and there was a hard check there by RBS (even though I have 3 other current accounts with them!). However I'm on 999 so it did not affect my score and I suppose not worth bothering with to ask for a deletion.
