The Ulster Bank E-savings account is a savings account. It will be savers who open it and need to be alerted to this.
The account will be of no interest to current account-seekers.
Thanks for this - I've moved the thread to the Savings & Investments board where it is better suited.

They said they run a "soft" check but not one that leaves an "imprint". I'm about to remortgage, so they said it should be fine.
Are others convinced?
There is no search at all on my credit file for this.
Doesn't feel right to me, either.

it looks like a hard check only applies if you cannot pass the normal identity checks like uploading your driving license scan.
My Experian file on MSE showed a hard search but there was nothing at all on Clearscore (Equifax) or Noddle/GiffGaff (CallCredit).
