Ebay buyer wants to pay with Bankers Cheque..Ok?

    yeah i work for LLoyds and it still takes the full 5 days to clear.

    Also ring the branch and ask if it has been issued by them - they will be able to confirm it is a legitimite bankers cheque.

    Bit strange on the min £50 bit, i know LLoyds will issue them for any amount but they cost the customer £10.

    Guess they might have different rules being a BS - best bet is to call em and check i spose ;)

    It should be ok. There is a scam that works by you being sent a "cheque" for, say, £5000. You are then asked to send the difference back once the cheque appears to clear. The cheque will be a fake and the bank will recover the money from you.

    If someone was wanting to do this i would try and encourage them to withdraw the money and pay it direct into my bank as cash. Should show up instantly and would save a lot of time and hassle waiting for it to clear. Buyer gets item quicker you don't have to worry about funny cheques etc.
