Sounds like it could be a debt collection company. I had a few of those type of calls in my last property and it turns out the previous occupant had owed quite a bit of money.
You got the phone number of the previous occupant?
Seems unlikely!
I got some on these calls on my landline, I now know the address and name of the person they are after since they are not good on data protection. About 15 miles away though.
basically phone numbers are reused and not after long these days. maybe time to add another digit!0
