Is it a scam?

I changed my phone provider today. I was issued a new number.
I got a call this evening & it was an automated voice asking to speak to Laura someone. They said if it was Laura press one, if not press two.
I'll be honest I thought it was junk calls or maybe people chasing money & I didn't want them calling again, so pressed two.
Then it gave another three options - the third was hang up so I did.
I have caller display & call blocker, so I thought I'd block the number, but oddly, it doesn't show on the call log????
The two calls from new provider today did, so it's working fine.
Is it some sort of scam?

Sounds like it could be a debt collection company. I had a few of those type of calls in my last property and it turns out the previous occupant had owed quite a bit of money.0

That was my first thought - my new phone number.
But I thought it was really odd how the call didn't log as an incoming call - not even private/withheld number.0 -
Could be absolutely anything without more information. Make sure you've not signed up to something that costs £4.50 a week or whatever. You should have just dropped the call of course (presuming you're not called Laura?)
Mobile numbers are recycled nowadays so it's possible it's just a roll over from the previous owner of the number.0 -

That's as much info as I have, it's a landline number.
How do I make sure I've not signed up to anything? Wait for the bill to arrive....0 -

Pretty much I'm afraid unless certain charges come off your bank details or card immediately. I'm not meaning to worry you I might add but these scammers play dirty. Have you checked your online account?
Can you put the number up or at least do a search yourself?
Try - who called me from xxxxxxxxxx in Google.0 -
There's no mechanism for scam billing to a landline, is there?0

Ahh, I was thinking it was a landline calling their mobile but I think you're right, it was to their landline. My bad.0 -

I don't mean to be rude by I don't think you're reading my post.
On the call log there was nothing, as if the call hadn't happened.
The last call recorded was one earlier in the day from my phone/tv provider.0 -

When I was at a debt collection company in I.T, and also managing the automated call system, the boss had a company come in trying to sell us a service that sounds like that. Think it was back in 2008, and they gave us a free trial.
It was a hassle as you needed to upload a file of names and numbers to a separate portal. I wasn't convinced as I thought;
"They'll all just press 2 for no"
"They'll think it's a scam where pressing a number will charge them"
"The voice won't pronounce some names correctly"0
