I've just had a phone call from a company based in Liverpool who wanted me to claim for a delayed flight I made earlier in the year to Tenerife. As it happens the flight wasn't delayed at all and the lady said she'd delete our details. What is worrying though is how these people had found out I went to Tenerife at all. I advise all our readers to be very vigilant.

Very interesting - and also disturbing.
The only people with that personal data I imagine are the airlines and (if you didn't book directly) the travel agent. Perhaps also the airport car park companies? Can't think of others.
It can't be in the airlines' interests to encourage claims, so who is passing around the data? It's certainly not legal - so I wouldn't trust my claim to such fly-by-nights.0 -

Hi Legal Magpie,
Did you answer a questionnaire while in the queue at TFS? If so, perhaps it was data sold by them. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Not that I can recall. While I often get calls asking me about "my accident" (I usually do all I can to !!!! them off by wasting their time) this was different.0
