yup coffee grounds are great to get rid of slugs and snails... they also keep the local cat population at bay.. I have tried! Also helps make great compost!

I have picked up bags at most of our local starbucks - sometimes I have to ask, sometimes they are in a basket to take..

However, it is commercial waste and therefore should be disposed of by legally recognised method (this can include composting/recycling!).

By 'donating' it to customers they are not paying to get rid of their waste (we should get a discount if they are saving money!) and are not complying with legal obligations. KNow I'm a bore but the law is there for a reason...

I am confused, you are saying its is illegal for Starbucks to give away their grounds? Are you sure?

Anyway there is a bin in Bristol Borders Starbucks but nothing to put them in and nothing to lift them out with. I didn't expect to find it though so was not prepared this time.
They also have a long code you have to remember to get in the toilets, but that is another topic unless you use your grounds to mop up! ;)
