Vodafone BB

Am I mad in considering this company for fibre 38?

But it can't be as bad as TalkTalk, can it ?

Good points,
£25 even after minimum term according to MSE

Bad Points
can't transfer VM number or trigger VM cancellation
vodafone billing!?

  • I've got vodafone fibre and have done for just under a year.

About a month or so ago I got a circular with the usual increase mid-way through contract from £25 to £27 a month, even though they were offering £25 to new customers. As soon as I queried this they immediately offered to take the extra off the bill to take it back down.

The broadband has worked flawlessly for 11 months but last couple of weeks had been playing up big time. When I rang them up they gave me a couple of pointers, talking me through what they thought might be the issue. They could also look at my account and corroborate the fact that it had been dropping out and what times etc so there was no dispute. The problem was resolved via a couple of changes (new microfilter and channel change) and now my BB works fine again. Speeds are consistently pretty good.

Overall on the basis of the above I've been pleased with them.

They also don't allow you to use your own router.

I assume you got your records issue sorted out?

records issue not yet resolved. Thanks for asking

I had an email from the initial team that things looked positive, but passed it onto another team for some additional checks.
Annoying they did seam to indicate this may take 28 days from that email, which is a little cheeky.

I think since Openreach went onto twitter, their fibre enquiries team has became so inundated with emails, that the lead time had to be increase to the 28 days it is at the moment.

It took them 6 days to send me an initial email and then appeared to indicate a further 28 days required.

Not quite as bad as I recall but annoying when deals ending.

Deals come up all the time.

    Hopefully you'll get sorted soon.

Yes your MAD!!! to think about Vodafone fibre..

How do i know because i did it... :(

I moved across from Plusnet because Vodafone did the £25 deal all in for the 76MB package.

They said i would get faster speeds because they put 2 pipes into the exchange. I thought unlikely i get 73MB on Plusnet and thought its going to be the same.

    No its worse.. 68MB MAX!

And i have never had so many dropouts even going back to the 28k modem days..

To be honest 30Mbps would be enough for me. Hopefully they can manage that.

30M maybe OK but when your in the middle of something and its lost connection yet again its a PITA.

Mine dropped out during an online purchase yesterday. Right at the end when its verifies the CC transaction. So I had to repeat the transaction and hoping i have not bought 2 of them.

I'm getting grumpy that the line installation seams to add at least £3 per month to many of these deals.

TalkTalk may not have that ATM.

I guess once I get on the OR fibre network, I won't have to pay this ~£60 to switch to another provider in 18 months?
