Budgets are awful, poor quality and expensive, but M&S are a great store.
I think every town should have one, instead of these grubby supermarkets that keep springing up everywhere.
Lin You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

A snob and not afraid to admit it I see.
Reminds me of a battle fought in Moseley, Birmingham. A former car showroom that had been empty for a few years was acquired by Tesco. Complaints flooded in about increased congestion and taking business away from other local shops. Tesco sought to placate residents by including a new medical centre in the development at their expense. Opposition continued and the planning process stalled.
Eventually Tesco gave up and the site was then acquired by M & S who submitted very similar plans and magically all the objections disappeared overnight.0 -
I used to live in Stanmore, quite a snobbish area. They fought tooth and nail to stop Woolworth buying a shop that had become vacant as it was SO low class.
They won. Unfortunately for them, but happily for us lower classes, Lidl's bought it instead.0 -
Mrs MbW is a god send for food shopping in M&S - she can spend about £30 in there and get at least £50-70 worth in return because she buys the reduced items

For those who doubt the value of a Sparks card....I saw that M&S had some of the 'new' range of nightwear in, and decided a new pair of PJs was worth buying.....
My Sparks card gave me a 20% off Nightwear offer for this fortnight...which was worthwhile on its own....however, I also had a birthday offer...20% off my next clothing shop....and M&S are brilliant in that they honour two offers on a single shop (some places only allow one coupon/offer per transaction)
So, I got almost 40% off my new PJs!!!0 -
How is that going to be any different at M&S, hardly a by-word for cheap food pricing?
But at least you get what you're paying for quality wise. Budgens just take advantage of their convenient locations and sell bog standard food at over-inflated prices.
Our one was a Londis, then it became Budgens complete with the price increases, now it's Londis again.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
