Bridgnorth Parking charge, Haworth

Hi,
I was also victim of this DISGRACEFUL and vile parking service. I sent an appeal against our parking ticket, stating the reason for our 10 min delay back to our vehicle (that I am an amputee and struggled to get back on time due to steep cobbled streets). To my horror this ticket was not rescinded and was told I had to pay the £75.
Can anyone tell me whether debt collection (as stated and threatened on the ticket) will occur? And most importantly, do I need to pay this absolute monster?
Thanks in advance guys

Debt collection just means letters. Ignore those.
You've read the newbies thread? It's stick at the top of the board for a reason.0 -
We are going to need more information once you have read the NEWBES sticky thread.
What is the name of the PPC and was the driver's identity revealed during the initial appeal for starters?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

I had a quick skim read through the newbies thread.
I gave my first and second name in appeal. Only other detail they have is reg number.
Penalty parking charge is for Mr T Farnell, Bridgnorth Parking Services, PO Box 730, Halifax.
Thanks0 -

But do the scammers know who was driving? Did the person who appealed say, I parked or similar? Do they have a physical address to go with the name?
Did it really say it was a penalty charge? I'm assuming this was a windscreen ticket or notice to driver.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

These are not BPA/IPC members. They have no access to the DVLA database. Had you not contacted them they would have absolutely no idea who you are or where you live. You would have heard nothing more from them - ever!
Ouch!
Just confirm - you provided your first name and surname? You provided your address? You confirmed you were the driver?
Can you post up what you said in your letter to them? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Just to confirm, I have first name and surname and confirmed I was the driver of the vehicle that had the windscreen PPC.
This was my email to him which should include reply:
Dear Sir/madam,
I am writing to appeal the above parking charge.
I am aware that upon return to our vehicle we were 10 minutes over the ticket expiry time (16:20). The reason for this being that as a high right leg amputee, I experienced great difficulty getting back up the steep cobbled hill and back to our car in time. As my carer, my wife had to provide support for me in order to get back up the hill. As this was our first time in Haworth, we were unaware of how unsuitable the terrain for my disability would be. If I didn't require my wife's support she would have been able to get back to the car in plenty of time.
Furthermore I am also aware that we were parked slightly over the marked lines of the bay. As there didn't appear to be any wide disabled parking bays available, we opted to park in a regular bay. Due to my disability and prosthesis, I require additinal space to swivel my prosthetic leg out of the door and be able to heave myself up to a standing position.
According to your colleague who was working at the car park yesterday, he mentioned that everybody gets a 10 minute grace period to get back to their vehicles before being issued a ticket. When my wife questioned him about this relating to my individual mobility issues, he stated that the 10 minutes grace time was for EVERYBODY, able bodied or not and to quote him, he said it was 'equal rights' across the board. Now my question is:
Do you not think that (for somebody like myself with extreme mobility problems), disabled people should be granted additional grace time to allow them to get back to their vehicle on time?
I ask you this question as it takes someone like me twice as long to get from A to be B and demands 60% more energy to do so. Additionally, as we were unfamiliar with the area, the time we estimated it would take us to return to the car, was unrealistic under the circumstances because of my condition.
I trust and hope that you will give sensitive consideration to my parking charge and that you repeal it now that you know what my challenges are and the difficulties that I experienced yesterday in Haworth.
Please see attached blue badge, evidence of prosthesis and doctors letter confirming my disability.
Kind Regards,
Peter Hodge
Dear Mr Hodges
Thank you for your reply, However we cannot and do not make exceptions for individuals concerning their medical conditions. I am sure you will be aware that people with more severe conditions I.e wheel chairs users and so on so forth plan their trip well in advance which do result without any problems.
Due to this we obviously cannot make exceptions and so your appeal regretfully has been unsuccessful
Regards

I cannot see anywhere in your email where you have confirmed whether it was you or your wife driving.
Let it stay that way.0 -
If they don't have your domicile address they can't really chase you. Ignore their emails.
Come back if you get anything through the post from them - extremely unlikely. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
