Obviously they don't wait for people to turn up on the doorstep waiting to move in. They need to communicate. At some point down that line there is going to be someone who isn't inconvenienced and it may actually be their current landlord.
There's only one thing that they've committed to do, and that was move out before having a home to move to.
It's their own fault.
I'm assuming it i their fault, I don't actually know. I've asked the estate agent to discuss with them and we'll see what tomorrow brings.0 -

What else can it really be? Living with friends/parents who are kicking them out? Probably not.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Sorry, why is this your problem? FTBs have agreed to move out of their house, with nowhere to go. Not saying you shouldn't be flexible if you can, but in this case you're talking huge upheaval for your kids and you have nowhere for your cats to go.
Let them sort it out, it's just not your problem. If they can't organise their own lives, tough.
No way in the world would I be letting my cats stay in the house with people I (and they) don't know. If new people move in - and remember how territorial cats are - how stressed do you think they're going to be? What if they run off and don't come back when called? The new owners are going to be focused on moving in, not worried about your cats, and moving house is one of the most stressful things an animal can go through, let alone doing that after they've had other people move into their territory with lots of new smells they don't know.
Oh - and vaccinate your cats. Cat flu, GE and leukemia are the most awful diseases for cats to get.' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -

They are vaccinated, just not annually like catteries need. My best mate is a small animal vet and is very clear that they don't actually need them annually most (not all) last 5-10 years.0 -
"Most people like cats at least enough to look after them for just a few days"?! Are you serious?moneyistooshorttomention wrote: »I know the "brakes would jam on" hard if anyone mentioned children in their position. But - I'd be willing to look after cats for 4 days and would think most people like cats at least enough to look after them for just a few days - even if they don't want their own (as long as they don't have any cats of their own that would get their "noses put out of joint" by facing strange cats on "their territory" - and fur might fly). I would think most people would think "Aw - a little furry lodger (or two)" for just that period of time.
I have no interest in looking after any animals. I would not want the responsibility of storing someone else's furniture for a few days as part of a house move, let alone consider taking responsibility for a living creature!0 -
Have you asked Cats Protection if they would board? They take cats in not knowing if they are vaccinated or not.
Risk that your cats might catch something.
Last time we moved we put cats into boarding for a few days while we got settled in.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Update- their solicitor has confirmed they can stay in their rental another week and asked us to pay for it (why I don't know). In the interest of getting things moving we've agreed to pay half. As it isn't our fault I'm reluctant to pay it all but if it stops this stalemate then I'll do.
Exchange should be Monday!0 -

Hilarious.
As I thought; they're just drama queens.
It would have stopped the stalemate anyway, but it shows you're nicer than they are.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
