Memory card problem-please help!

Hi!
Can anyone help my DD?
She has a Nokia 6280 and has been using a 512mb memory card for 6 months but over the last couple of months she has been having errors occur.
It won't let her access the memory card to play on music player. She gets messages saying file format unknown when trying to access photos. It also says file corrupted when she tries to access files and at the moment she can't access anything. The phone says it's loading but nothing ever happens!!
It's a bit of a puzzler for us. We've tried taking out the memory card and taking out the SIM and also switching the phone on and off but nothing helps.

Would be grateful of any advice.

if you have a card reader on your pc,copy the files off the card with it and then put the card in the phone and format it . If it wont let the card be formatted,try formatting it with the pc and then formatting it with the phone.
You can put your media files back in once its accepted again by the phone.

hey i bought a card for my nokia6280 but, i dont see no option in my phone to use the card,

i dont see anything like "format memory card" not even memory card it self its new i bought it recently, i heard allot of other pple had the same problem, somebody told me to take it bk to the shop i bought it from and they should repair or replace it for me, BUT

i bought mine from an online dealer on pay monthly contract and the company i bought it from is gone under administration(bust),

what do i do bout it , where do i take my phone to get it fixed..

can anybody be at any help ?

Have you pushed the card in properly so it clicks down (push it right down).
or
Try turning the phone on and off again

yes i have pushed it al the way and i inserted the card properly in the phone, i can tell coz it coz spring in it so u know if its in properly or not...

by by the way whats DD

so what am i gona do bout it.. if it is a problem with my phone the company is no more where i bought it from.. it was a contract phone pay monthly

The 6280 has been known to be a bit buggy and prone to the odd problem. I have the 6288 which was the successor model, but every now and then that plays up and turns itself off and on again without any reason.

I haven't had any memory card problems, but I don't use it much. To format the card, select it from My Items and choose Options (left soft key) and there should be an option to format it there.
