No longer need outbound flight on package holiday

Unexpected circumstances mean I'm going to be near my holiday destination the day before I was due to depart from uk. So it seems ridiculous to fly back to uk just to fly back to my holiday destination. I can easily make my own way to the holiday accommodation to synchronise with the time I would have arrived had I flown from the uk. I don't expect any refund but I wondered if I told the travel co I didn't need the outbound flight I'd be charged for amending my booking, in which case I'd be better off just saying nothing and just turning up at the accommodation or arrival airport when I would have been expected anyway?

How will they know you're going to be there if you're not on the flight?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I think the same applies as a flight only situation. You lose the inbound leg as well.

Indeed, if you don't use your outbound flight it's highly likely your return flight will be cancelled.

You should contact the travel company.
You have not mentioned the airline. Some, mainly scheduled carrier, will automatically cancel all unflown segments of the ticket if you do not take the first sector. Other point to point or charter airlines will keep the inbound flight for you.
Easyjet, Ryanair, Thomson, Jet2 you will likely be fine.
British Airways, Virgin Atlantic - will potentially cancel the inbound sector of the ticket.0 -
it's a package with Olympic Holidays, charter flights are with a french charter airline ASL France. Can't see a specific reference to my scenario in the booking conditions https://www.olympicholidays.com/help/booking-terms-and-conditions/
replies are a bit worrying, i'll just have to phone them Monday.0 -
The flight policy will be the policy of ASL France as to whether the inbound gets cancelled0

can't see any specific reference to it there either http://www.aslairlines.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/GAL-CONDITIONS-OF-CARRIAGE-2015.pdf0 -
You need to ask the question! If you don't you're settling yourself up for unnecessary problems.0

If Olympic have chartered the whole flight they will have the final say. If not it's down to ASL C of C.0

Thanks for all replies. I suppose I knew things wouldn't be straightforward when I posted. I'll post the outcome when there is one.0
