I live in rural East Lincolnshire and even our "A" roads are single carriageway*. We have a large number of club cyclists, many road races and cyclists practicing for Pursuits and races. This often leads to bunches of cyclists, some 2 and 3 abreast. The situation can be complicated in the holiday season by caravans, motorhomes and other holiday traffic. Add to that all the massive agricultural machinery from our large farms, plus any motorbike racing at nearby Cadwell Park, and you might expect a recipe for disaster. You would be wrong: this has been happening for so long in our area, that we locals know there is no point in becoming annoyed. The only ones taking risks and causing problems, are the incomers, and they cause a LOT of accidents.
*Please don't give me a lecture about the meaning of "single carriageway". You know what I mean, highway pedants!I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I'd fit it on the other side though if I were you!I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
