Frustrated at no interest in house

I've had my house for sale since march but no interest what so ever so changed agents beginning of July thinking it was the agent not doing a very good job, but still no interest or people book to view either don't turn up or phone and cancel an hour or so before viewing.
I have also reduced the price with in the last few days and still nothing. The only thing I can think is putting people off is that we are situated next to a factories small office block and car park and I'm assuming people are thinking its going to be noisy but its not. Any advise and what to do next would be appreciated as I feel that I'm going to be stuck here forever.
House is a 4 bed detached on for £159950 and is cheaper than others in same village that don't need work doing to them or are alot smaller.

I'm afraid to say that, with a few rare exceptions, when a house is attracting so little interest it is because the price is too high.
If you would like some constructive criticism and have a thick enough skin, post a link.0 -
When something's been sitting on the market that long, people may assume there's something wrong with it. It could also be that the market is slow in the area and at the type of property you're selling - are similar properties where you are shifting, or is everyone in the same boat as you are. It could be that the online ad is duff - poor pictures, lack of floorplan etc all contribute to people not booking a viewing.
But the main problem, as has already been said, and will no doubt be said again, is price. Whatever it is, it's simply too high. Shave £10k off to get it under the £150k mark, which is a nice round number and mental barrier, and you might get somewhere... good luck0 -
Drop the price in 10k increments until you at least get some enquiries, then the trail is warming up a bit, sitting with a house at a price no one wants to pay is not going to do your stress levels any good IMO.0

Thanks for replies, We have some serious thinking to do as don't really want to drop the price much further as will be selling for less than we originally paid for it it but I think we may need to bite the bullet if we ever want to get moved.
I cant post a link with being a new poster but it can be found if anyone has time to look on right move, village is Stillington Stockton on tees 4 bed detached on for £159950 (any feed back is welcome).0 -

A Very Neat and Tidy Four Bedroom Detached House with Lovely Living Accommodation Which Will Suit a Growing Family Looking for a Wonderful Semi-Rural Location. Worthy of a Special Mention is the Private Rear Garden Which is Not Overlooked to the Rear and Faces South West and on the Right Day is a Real Sun Trap.

Your house is listed at £160k. There are two other 4-bed detached on sale in the same village for £140k and £135k. OK, the one at £135k looks minute, but the other one looks comparable to your property. Is there something about the location that makes yours worth an additional £20k?0

To be honest, the ad looks perfectly alright - lots of good photos, floor plan, location, all the basics. Certainly nothing bad enough to put off enquiries if people were looking for a house in the area.
As the risk of repeating what others have said, the price might be perceived to be too high, especially with the news of prices continuing to fall in the North East http://www.propertyreporter.co.uk/property/north-east-house-prices-continue-to-reverse.html
I know it's tough to consider selling at the same price you bought at 8 years ago but I guess you'll have to give it a shot if you really need to move soon. Who is to say prices won't fall any further?
Good luck with whatever you decide, hope it works out well in the end!

You paid £149,950 for it, albeit in october 2009.

Nationwide House Price index would suggest that in the north of England, there has been a 7.82% house price growth since then, but yours was a new build, so you will have paid slightly over the odds at the start.
I'd say your price is about £10k too high, and you should be looking to sell for what you bought it for.0 -
This is quite petty but I like to see the room measurements in feet and inches as metric doesn't mean anything when I first look. Have to work it out lol. Metric as well is OK.
Looks a lovely house though.0
