Rip off Record
Turps
I hired a standard elite van (7seat people carrier with space for 4 cases) for 2weeks with Record go Mallorca through Expedia. Cost £470. Instead they tried to give me an xtrail when I arrived, which didn't have enough room for our luggage. Record go insist I have to pay to upgrade as it's Expedia's mistake and that it 'happens all the time'. Cost another £140. Have my own excess insurance as per MSE article advice, so off we went.
Took photos at pick up and drop off- pre existing scrape to front bumper marked on sheet already.
Record go have now chard £292 to my card. No discussion/ explanation. Still no response to complaint 10d in and their number just rings out. Not sure what they're claiming the charge is for!! Expedia are 'investigating' the extra charges but rang me yesterday asking for another 48h to respond as they can't get hold of anyone to respond to them either!!
What do I do? Now nearly £450 down and getting nowhere. If they are claiming damage I can't do anything with my insurance as have no documentation or anything about it. And there wasn't any!! Help!!!

S75 won't work, the debtor-creditor-supplier chain is broken.
See What's not covered by Section 75? at the above link.
You need to give them time to fully investigate and resolve your complaint first. You can however contact your card issuer and request a chargeback for the additional payment taken by the hire company without authorisation.
Expedia are based in the US so your only legal option for recovering money from them would be the US courts.0
