Was looking at a weekend in scotland in the highlands near ben nevis what would be the cheaper option get a flight from east midlands to glasgow flybe do one or get a train all the way to glasgow then change and get the train to fort william or flight to glasgow then train rest of way looking at national rail would have to spend night in glasgow or get overnight sleeper train but the flight from east midlands is early so could do it in a day

Low cost airlines like flybe have one fair for That route which you can book now but train fares don't get released until 6 weeks before

Then look for train fares about five and a half weeks away.
That should give you an idea of what might become available on your travel dates.

Trains are 12 weeks in advance and a lot of train companies allow you to register for alerts for when they go on sale. If you are not looking for an advance ticket you could find out fare now if not before January price hike.

Remember to factor in cost of getting to and from Glasgow airport.
