Ovo Energy

Ive been doing some comparisons as British Gas are increasing their tariffs next month, the best ive come across is a company called Ovo, looking at the reviews in Which they score well in all categories and looking at their tariffs I could save nearly £300.00 a year as im not at the moment on a fixed deal. Does anyone actually subscribe to Ovo or know anything about them as I do tend to be a bit hesitant with companies im not familiar with? I really don't want to sign up with any of the so called big six.
Thanks.

I will say this for OVO - their customer service is near faultless. If they were cheap enough, I'd go back to them in a heartbeat.

I have been with them for 3 years.

Pay £50 by DD every month for 2 bed semi detached house.

Give my meter readings on-line on the last day of month.

Get bill within 2 working days.

In credit by over £100 which they add interest to that, so I get around £4 every month for having an account with them.

Get someone to refer you in and you both get £25
Refer your friends to OVO and we'll treat you both to a choice of £25 M&S, Argos or Amazon.co.uk Gift Cards* when they join. It's our way of saying thanks for spreading the word.

We've been with OVO for a few years now for our electricity ( we have oil c.h.), ....currently part way into a 2 year fixed contract. I'm happy with them overall although their website displays of useage and accounts info are rather wierd. Probably not the cheapest but we don't use much electricity anyway.
  • Thanks for all the replies, very helpful, im going to have a proper look into them but am swayed by them at the moment.

I'm on year 2 now and building up a credit as they take too much by direct debit.

No matter - they will give me 4% interest when I get the refund.
