One of the things I have done to get my problems under control is to not buy things that 'will do' like you and your sainsburys tops. I'm impressed you returned them. I still find the odd thing in the wardrobe that has tags on that I don't particularly like and it makes me cross with myself for all the money that was wasted. I try really hard to only buy clothes that I really like, and that make me feel confident when I wear them - rather than things which will do and were a bargain.
Thank you
I have to admit I am impressed with myself too, usually I just wouldn't bother to take them back, thinking I will wear them eventually - when in reality I never will.
I know it's small in the grand scheme of things but seeing that £15 refund go back onto my credit card makes me feel really good, because I faced up to the fact I bought the tops on impulse but realised and took them backTotal debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

Sounds like your on your way with your plans for repaying and doing surveys.
I was another one that can't be bothered taking stuff back , but after LBM I don't buy any clothes unless I need it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Happy Friday Everyone
Tomorrow morning I am off to the bank to pay the £300 cash in towards my wedding dress, which is going to the M&S credit card. I cannot wait to update my signature.
That will leave me with £478 left on it to pay then that is one of my 2017 goals achieved
I get paid a week today, planning to have a good month with NSD's next month and pay as much to the credit card as possible.
Also working at my second job on sunday which is purely money for the remaining part of my wedding dress, which is not payable till 2019 but im putting it all into a separate account and forgetting about it till then.Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

So today didn't go as great as planned, a random lump appeared on my gum so glad to book a last minute dentist appointment £20!
But I did reach £10.50 on valued opinions - so a £10 voucher for boots (towards Xmas presents) is on its way
I think overall today has reminded me that unexpected things can crop up at anytime, and I just have to deal with that. Old me would have paid for the dentist by credit card - the new me doesn't.Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29
