Cash withdrawals - disabling the facility

I inadvertently withdrew cash on my credit card rather than my debit card( I have the same PIN). I never want to use this facility on my credit card - will credit card companies allow you to disable this facility? There is no real info on this on the web.
Any advice appreciated - thanks

Would using s different PIN for your credit card prevent repeating the mistake?Evolution, not revolution0

It'd make sense to use different PINs.
Do you use the same PIN on all cards? :eek:I have the same PIN0 -
I'll look to change the PIN just had that many cards over the years it was easier to have the same PIN (I know this is stupid).
Does anybody know if you can disable the facility though?0 -

Not sure - maybe you could phone your credit card issuer and ask ? Or even log onto their website and have a look ?0 -
Yes looked on their website there was nothing. I'll ring them as it appears to be an unknown on here0

Are you sure you sure you are ready for a credit card? Would a basic bank account not be safer?0

Heres the answer....NO it would be impossible for them to disable one facility for one customer out of 00;s of thousands.0 -
I'm not so sure. Certainly the google search I've made seems to state it's possible. Plus, not all customers with the same credit card from the same company have the same cash limit (as a percentage of their credit limit).Heres the answer....NO it would be impossible for them to disable one facility for one customer out of 00;s of thousands.0 -
If you only ever use it online, you could ask for a new PIN by post, then burn the notification.
I think a bank machine takes the card fully, but a PIN pad in a shop leaves about an inch sticking out. A few turns of duct tape on the non-chip end, would allow one facility but physically prevent the other.0 -
It would be advisable to look what card you pull out of your wallet to then insert into the ATM.0
