Employment wise, the technical professions ARE persecuted in this country.
Have you ever considered the possibility that it's not technical professions that are persecuted, simply you that feels persecuted?0 -

There are plenty of jobs claim to be technical but actually are not.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

So what's your definition of technical?
I'm a Project Engineer in the Oil & Gas industry (supplying distributed control systems) ... is my job technical?0 -

I did a desk job for 6 years, hated it, hated working with dumb people who because they worked in an office, thought they'd "made it" in life.
Equally I spent a time working with a bunch of product designers who never left the office and designed products that reflected their lack of hands on experience.
Any job i've had in a technical business, where they had more admin staff than technical, has been hell to work in. In those jobs it was easier to get a new pencil sharpener than it is to get a new screwdriver, in fact one role I got so sick of asking and so sick of being questioned as to why things take so long, that I ended up having to buy my own tools, which I then had to fight to keep when I left.
But this is not what OP was about, if you want a rant then start another thread.
I'm merely pointing out that sometimes you can't point the finger at any one person, especially when the work culture in a company is rotten to the core.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
