  • I'm at the annoying part of the month where I've enough money to live off but not enough to make any decent sized payments to the target credit card. 10 days until pay day! I Went food shopping yesterday and got petrol. I'm going out this evening so there will be a few spends there but will try to keep it as low as possible!

I've written a list of priority purchases. These are larger things that I want. Although this isn't money that could I guess go on debt repayment. This is about learning to manage my money better and saving up for things rather than putting them on my plastic frienemy!

  • Just collected the post and my new credit card bill is through. I've paid the minimum payment and I've filed it.

So far.....(I started my 'getting rid of debt' plan on the 1st August)

    July balance £1125. 29
    August balance £922.36
    September balance £590.46

I'm pretty happy with this! It might seem like slow progress to some but with everything that has been going on in my life and all the changes in income I'm really happy. I feel like my goal of paying it off by Christmas is really doable! Yay!

  • Thanks everyone!

So I have organised my September spends......

Groceries (including pet food, nappies, toiletries, cleaning
    Stuff etc. ) £238.79
    Petrol and parking £137.67
Clothes for little lady £ 177.59 (-£100 as dds daughter gave me money)
    Clothes for me £37.10
    Entertainment £103.58

I haven't compared these figures to last month ( I will do) but I'm okay about them! Obviously I am horrified at how much money I have spent on the little lady's wardrobe! It's ridiculous (even though her dad paid for some of it) I am setting myself the challenge of not spending any money on clothes for the little lady. With the exception of shoes if they are needed!
