Macbook Pro cant use two screens?

In my line of work having two screens is the way to work...Is it really the case that MB Pro cant use two monitors?
A MacBook Pro will drive a 4K monitor. That way, there is no real need for 2 screens, unless you like filling up your desk! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -
One monitor I have has a cream/white plug with two square sets of pins - 3x3 and a horizontal line...
The other looks a bit like a HDMI lead, but it has a rounded edge on one side. that seems to be an adapter for another of the cream/white plug.
The white one sounds like a DVI connection and the other a DisplayPort connection.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -

See comments in red. And this might help.
Can you connect to your office network over WiFi? If not then one of the Thunderbolt ports will probably be needed for an Ethernet connection. That'll only leave one port for an external monitor.
As above, a larger monitor running 3840 x 2160 (4K) would be essentially the same as 4x 1920 x 1080 monitors. Or you could look at 3840 x 1440 or 3840 x 1600 resolution monitors ... they're like having 2 monitors side-by-side but as a single screen.0 -
Yes I have two Dell monitors one has DVI-D single link after googling
I can go through wifi yeah - although on PC here I typically use ethernet for a wired connection. Does the Macbook Pro not use ethernet?0 -
The model you linked does not declare having an Ethernet/RJ45 port. Thus you'd need a Thunderbolt-Ethernet adaptor (example here).0

This may be where the issues are coming from? Lack of ports and adapters sharing various roles?0

You're best on WiFi if you can, but if you need to you can get a Thunderbird to Ethernet adaptor. And for the monitor, use another Thunderbird port and plug in, what I think you need, a Thunderbird to DVI cable. If you actually have displayport available, a thunderbird to displayport cable would be better if you can.0

There is no issue the pro can display on 2 screens.
your IT guy is talking crap when he said this
"I was told a guy in IT that Mackbook Pro isnt really designed to be used with more than one screen."
After all the feedback you have been getting from everyone on this post you still seem unsure of it therefore I recommend you go into a Apple store and talk to them or go to the apple support forums

If after trying those two options you're stilling humming and hawing if the pro can run two displays then go buy a windows laptop. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
