Adding Sky Sports to discounted account.

Options
Hi all

My Sky account currently has 60% off until the end of January.

I have previously added Sky Sports onto this and it too was discounted by the 60%.

Just called Sky and they have said that that isnt the case anymore & the Sky Sports would be the full current rate.

Has anyone else hit this wall or is it worth trying again?

Cheers

  • It's always worth trying again with Sky at least as it depends on who you get (possibly due to individual quotas). That said the PL has just started so I'm guessing offers will be thinner on the ground.

    Cheers

I had another pop on webchat but got the same answer.

It was only to watch the (very) odd game of footy so wont be paying full whack for that.

I'll spend the money saved on wine

I've had the same conversation and outcome today as well. Not paying the full amount. As don't manage to see most of the games. BT Sport suits me better. Sky Sports is a rip off.

Same here, tries 10+ times and they won't budge on the full price even though I had a 60% offer available to me on the old sports package. They do have an option for no minimum term on the new sports channels even though it is a couple of quid a month more, so it might be a case of taking them at full price for a month or so and then ringing to get them removed, maybe then they might offer something...!

Be very careful with making "additions" to discounted deals - I got a phone call offering Sky Cinema for £5 pm just after starting my 60% off everything else last November. On quizzing the CSA I finally got an admission that this deal would override my 60% off deal - so taking Cinema would actually have cost me ~ £50 pm more:eek:

I thought it was widely known that Sky only allow one offer at a time (though tv and the other services are treated separately), with any change overriding a previous deal.

I added sports to Box sets and got the same discount, 65% on the sports an a rolling month contract. It was 2-3 months ago so things may have changed. Done it via live chat. Currently paying £16.37 for Box sets and sports.

...as post after yours suggests, SKY make it up as they go :rotfl:

The two scenarios , above, are different, though.

The first person took a Sports special offer of £5 so the other offer was cancelled (Going from 60% off every package to £5 for Sport). The second person didn't take the extra on it's own special offer , so it was added to the current one (stayed the same at 65% off any package)

I notice that Sky have done the rehash hinted at by surveys(merging broadband with tv over 18 months) .Variety seems to have gone with Boxed Sets being cheaper than the Variety was (£31) and Cinema is £10,instead of £18, so perhaps we can accept less discount %.

Difficult to compare prices now, as the web site is listing prices for SKYQ on 18 month contracts - most of us on here ,are still on SKYHD+ boxes - Variety is still listed @£25pm on 18 month contract.
