Or get Amazon deliveries sent to a collection point as having parcels delivered to work can be an issue.

OP get onto the estate agents tomorrow and see about putting up a property number near the letter box as been suggested.

No mention of Amazon, except by Hedgehog, as this is purely a Royal Mail problem.
  • It is Royal Mail, and seeing if we can do anything to get them to take some responsibility in this, and if so, what they can do to help sort out the problem they have caused.

    I wouldn't bank on it.
however as this is ongoing I would be more pro active.
put a label on the shop letterbox to enforce its 41a.

We did think about going out and sealing the letter box up in the middle of the night, but that won't help get back the post that's already in there at the moment.

No, but that's not an issue that RM are going to get involved in, it's a matter for the property owner, so preventing future misdeliveries is what you need to concentrate on with RM.

Yes good point Amazon aren't involved.
  • No, it's Royal Mail. I have sent an e-mail to the Estate Agents, and will ring them tomorrow, see where I from there. I have been out and got tape and will stick no 41A all over the door (and letterbox), hopefully the postman won't miss the signs.

Thank you all for your help. Will let you know what happens next.

  • I phoned the Estate Agents this morning, they have just called me back.
They are going to the shop tomorrow to sort out the post, they have asked it we would be in and can we meet them there, so trying to get the morning off work.

They have spoken to the owner (who apparently said what again)! He has agreed that the letterbox gets sealed up, so that post cannot be put through it, so this will be done by the estate agents, though I did offer a tube of superglue, but they asked if we had anything like gorilla tape and cardboard, as they will block it completely. So hopefully it will all be sorted out by tomorrow evening.

Again, thank you all for your help and suggestions.

Hopefully this will not result in non delivery of your mail altogether.

Is there some obvious reason why the Postmen keep delivering to the neighbour?

The 'a' in the address suggests the shop is an add on/split from an existing building.
So postie is delivering 37,39,41,43. Except after they deliver to 43,they discover it was actually 41a,not 43.
  • That's the one. It's ok when we have a regular postman, but when he/she goes on holiday it all goes to pot.

Fingers crossed that this works. Will be interesting to see how much junk mail we have missed out on (or maybe not).
