    Morning all,

Well today is the day.. do you remember the saga about not having both Grandchildren overnight at our house? Well I caved in. Daughter was adamant she didn't want them babysat at their house and said she'd get the other Nanny to have them instead. Since the only time I get to see my Grandchildren is when I'm looking after them, I guessed I wouldn't see them much. So tonight I've got my 4 year old 'Livewire' and his 4 week old baby sister. Heck, although I've got loads of pictures of her I've only seen her 3 times and she knows me just as much as I know her! If I can get through this I'm tougher than I think I am.

Hubby is having a hard cover fitted to his trailer today. It's only a small aluminium thing but useful when we go away.

Need to get a few bits before the Grandchildren come. New teats. I swear the problems my daughter is having feeding her is because she's got the wrong size teats. I'll see if I can get some whilst I'm out.

Holly Glad you got some sleep at last and Dumpling I'm glad you seem to be coping at the moment. Hester thinking of you and CHS on your travels.

    Wish me luck.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

Good morning everyone, not too bright here, but don't think it is due to rain today, we'll see:)

Had a good day yesterday, trip to market, bumped into a couple of friends so chatted for a few minute, it rained a little while we were out but we only got damp. Picked some more Damsons and then came back and made another 7 1/2 pounds of jam, ended up with 11 1/2 in total, need to find some not too expensive plums now, OH is instructed to look for roadside sales while he is out cycling:D

Supper was sticky pork ribs and mushroom rice, very tasty! Today is going to have to be a quiet lazy one as I can feel that I might run out of spoons.

Thank you for new thread nmlc, Holly great news about the sleep and TA I hope that Mr TA continues to feel better as the day progresses, Judi fingers crossed for sleepy children tonight and co-operative Mr Judi! Dumpling well done for holding everything together last week, I hope that next week will be much better for you, please accept apologies for those I have missed, need to get busy with the vac before OH and the dog return (she runs around like a mad thing while it is on).

Glad Mr TA is feeling better and escaped from the Krankenhaus, I hate those places.

We had a lovely day yesterday, a delicious pub lunch (they wrote Happy Anniversary on the dessert plate and undercharged us, although we did explain that to them and pay the right amount). Then we went to Cambridge just to have a mooch because it's been ages since we've been there.

I'm off to London to a matinee -The Ferryman. DD got tickets because she loves the playwright's work and it has good reviews. I'm just a bit worried i'll find it difficult to follow as I find Northern Irish accents difficult to follow if they speak too fast. DH used to work in NI part of the time and some of the conversations I heard were like gobbledegook.

    Good morning everyone.

Off to visit good friends today on the Sussex border, so looking forward to that.

Going to Folk week in Broadstairs tomorrow, the atmosphere is lovely with ad hoc performances in the street sometimes.

Doing well at eating out of freezer and from allotment at present. Have family staying all of September so good to be able to eat all of the odd bits before they come.

Hugs to the those struggling at present. Have a good weekend

  • Good morning everyone. Hugs to those who need it.

Just got back from vacation yesterday and I'm proud to say that I didn't even spend half the money I took with me. Now granted they didn't have any good shops but mostly souveniers stands but still. Very proud!

Given the fact we were away for 2 weeks the fridge is rather ... empty. We still have some cans / glasses with mushrooms, peas etc but it's not enough to keep us filled haha. So we're off to the supermarket tonight. I've made a list and let's hope we can stick to it!

Off to wash my clothes, still unpack and get back on track. Will come back later, have a good day <3

Pleased to hear Mr TA is home and recovering.
    Hugs to you dumpling.

It's damp and overcast here, hoping it will brighten up so I can put some washing out. Must do some shopping today, the fridge is a little empty, I've eaten out most days this week so will only buy healthy stuff (maybe!).

Have a good weekend. Take care. XX

    Morning all,

Glad to hear Mr TA is home & wish him a speedy recovery.
Dumpling glad Becky slept ok in the end.
Judi hope the babysitting overnight goes smoothly and the new teats are a success.

We went to the evening wedding reception last night but I'm full of a cold and I didnt know anyone at all - the groom is someone DH and DS know through work- so I was glad to get home again.Plus side,it was a fantastic hot buffet and DH had been warned not to eat beforehand so it was like having a free meal out :) Lovely setting on the edge of the moors,& nice romantic interior.Shame the mist came down and it was drizzly.

DHs back is playing up and he wasnt going to come dogwalking but lyla had other ideas, she sat on the pavement staring at the house and refused to walk.I had to go back in and tell him so he reluctantly came out ,but it did seem to loosen his back up a bit after ;),perhaps she knew best.

DGC here this afternoon ,overnight but its not like babysitting as DS is here.DGS is going to the zoo before he comes so no doubt he'll be full of tales about crocodiles etc (his favourite,I have to read a story called Kevin the Crocodile without fail every time he stays :))

Right enough waffle from me,sending love and hugs to anyone in need xx

Morning everyone - raining here too but seems to be easing off a little. That's good as I have to walk down to nearest post office to post a letter. It could wait but I fancy some fresh air. Might call in to see little great nephew as I almost pass their house.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday. I made a start on sorting 2 big boxes I brought up from my mam's house. Full of pictures and cards my girls had made me, school reports and all sorts of bits....including 3 reports of mine aged 8, 9 and 10! They make interesting reading - not quite as diplomatic as nowadays. One for PE said - ' she sometimes tries but has no enthusiasm whatsoever!'
Cleaned bathrooms this morning so towels are in the wash - hopefully I'll get them out later.
Okay, I'm going to move! Hope everyone has a good day.

Been up a while but just been pottering around, I have a wash on the go which I will hang out as it seems so be dry out for now.

Last night we were sitting in the lounge watching tv and were both so cold, we had full clothes on with big socks and a blankie over us but were still cold so we lit the log burner ! Unheard of in August but we were so cosy, it seems we have skipped summer and gone straight to autumn :(

Today we have to have a good clean through and go and do a bit of shopping we are away on holiday next Friday and I want to get some bits to take with us, and a few bits for the week.

The kitchen man came yesterday and sent me a plan of the new kitchen last night, it looks really lovely, we just need to go into the shop and order it when we are ready, wont be till after our holiday now, but the sooner the better for me :D

Man is coming to fit the new door on Monday which should really brighten the front of the house up, and the driveway man is coming to put a much needed new drive way in when we are back from holiday, so its all starting to happen now !

TA im glad Mr TA is home xx

    Have good days all xx

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Pleased to hear that Mr TA is home.

I am fizzing......the NP at the surgery told us 3 times on Thursday that the results of OH's blood test would be back yesterday, she would phone us with the results.....he rang at 5.45pm to be told it was not expected to be back until Monday at the earliest despite being marked urgent. The NP was not even in the surgery. That leaves us up in the air, OH is on steroids, one of the side effects of which is insomnia, so again 4am before either of us got to sleep. I ended up going and sleeping in the sewing room. We did manage to sleep in till 9am, but I still feel like a wet dishrag. I have written a letter to the practice manager which I will take down and put in the post box.......not a happy bunny.....we still have the headache.....

Hester, I hope you have a good week cruising on your boat and the weather is good.

Its sunny here, but again last night it was very cold.

We watched the Proms performance last night of Oklahoma, we really enjoyed it. I saw the film many years ago but had never seen it as a stage show.

No plans for today. Our friends who came yesterday bought a chocolate cake with candles on for my birthday, we have the remains in the fridge, it will keep us going for a couple of afternoon teas.
