Not sure what you mean, do you mean transiting through Heathrow or the ticket defaults to that?

I did this when I went to Oz last year. My flight back was into Heathrow and 'out of' Gatwick, so I went home from Heathrow. That was through BA.

Also try trivago for accomodation as they compare several sites. I flew internally and just looked for the flights on skyscanner as it seems to pick the lot up regardless pretty much

Excellent flights from Heathrow to Melbourne using Royal Brunei - cheapest I could find for my recent trip and the lovely Dreamliner planes. The service is even in economy is first class. Word of caution, if mum (or anyone else for that matter) cannot walk a mile through Dubai airport, ask for assistance.

Isn't Royal Brunei an alcohol free zone.
    It used to be.

Yes and they operate Dreamliner aircraft with Economy in a narrow seat narrow aisle configuration.

I loved Cottesmore beach area which is on the train line between Perh and Fremantle so you could visit both.

I think you mean Cottesloe beach, if so it is not actually ON the railway line, the walk from station to beach being a good 15 minutes, which with a young child and older person as well would not be easy, especially on a hot day.
