My girlfriend was awarded basic pip daily living last November scored 8 points we appealed because we felt she needed basic mobility on top. Went for appeal and was awarded basic mobility on top now has 10 points. This was 8 weeks ago but have not recieved it. Phoned today and was told would not be paid as need 12 points not 10. Explaned that was for enhanced rate but they are adamant she is not entitled to it although she has the decision in black and white stateing it has been awarded . They say 10 points not enough needs 12. But only need 12 for enhanced rate. What to do now

If your gf was awarded 8 points for care component this would indeed give her standard care.

You then state she has now got 10 points? Do you mean her care is 10 points or she has now received 10 Points for mobility?

If she has in fact been awarded 10 points for mobility this will indeed give her standard mobility payment.

They are not added on top as you say, it would be two separate lots of points, i.e care component 8 points....mobility component 10 points.....is this what she has got or has she in fact just had her care side increased from 8 to 10.?

Think another telephone call is in order.

does she have 10 points for mobility, or 2 points which your post sort of implies?

She recieved an extra 2 points on the mobilty and the judgement states you are entitled to basic rate mobility as well so 10 points in all

they're two seperate sets of points.

so she had 8 points in the first place for daily living and zero for mobility?

And now has 8 points for daily living and 10 points for mobility?

To be honest i dont really undestand but the appeal was only for the mobility part which the judge has awarded

    Sorry but I am confused.

From November last year did your girlfriend receive 8 points for Daily Living?

She has appealed and been awarded 10 points for Mobility as well as keeping her Daily Living of 8 points?

Or has she had her Daily Living increased to 10 points?

If you don't understand then we have no chance lol.

The appeal looks at the entire award, ie...Daily Living and Mobility not just one, you can't chose which one you appeal you have to take your chances and they look at the entire award again.
