Hi all,
I'm at the end of my contract. I current have a Samsung E710 on a vodafone contract which consists of £15 pm which I get 100 xnet anytime mins, 50 txts/12 pics messages. This contract really suits me. Its very rare I go over, so I'm not expecting to be offered a lot when I call disconnections. Trouble is I really want a new phone & I want to keep my number. I want a Samsung D500 or a E720.
I don't really want to go for a cashback deal cos I can't really afford the inital outlay, although if there are any out there I would like to know so I have some ammo when I call Voda.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Do you REALLY need a new phone?, is the old one faulty?.
The best deal I found for a mobile was actually PAYG with O2. One of their free sim cards will give you a combination of either 300 Free Texts or a combination of 100 Free Text Messages and 100 free X-Net, and £10 Call credit for £10 top up a month. So essentially the X-net minutes and texts are FREE as you still retain your original top up as call credit.
I have yet to see any contract on any network match or beat that!. I did give the same opportunity to Vodaphone when I was with Singlepoint, but they failed, hence they no longer have me as a customer.
I believe you should be able to port your number across from Vodaphone contract to O2 PAYG but it may be wise to actually ask the question before cancelling.0 -
There is nothing wrong with my old phone but I want a new one so I can give my mum my old one. I don't want to go on PAYG. I've had a contract for years and I prefer them. Thanks anyway."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0

Well, I just rang voda's disconnection dept (the move networks and keep my number option) and they offered me a E720 for £9.99 if I agreed to stay with them for another 18 months, which I am happy to do. If I wanted just a 12 month contract then it would of cost £29.99 which is also really cheap but I need the £20 at the mo, lol!
I also get to keep my current contract which is fantastic!
I am very happy"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -

I pressed the thanks button, but I wanted to say it on the board too - thank you jf2404, that link is a real gem. I can finally get an idea of what the broad range of deals are on the phone I am interested in (Samsung D500) and will give me the kind of leverage I need when I ask Vodafone for my PAC code.0

Don't forget D600 is out soon so only take the D500 if you get a really good offer, people where getting good offers on the 6230 just before the 6230i came out.2p off is still 2p off!0
