 Do you mean the 2014 changes?
 If a child is now adopted after a birth parent dies, the child can still inherit from the deceased parent's estate which is only fair.
 After adoption, the child has the same legal rights as a natural child of his/her parents.0

 I found this comment, see below, dealt with the point that is most like the situation that could happen to us.
 "If your daughter were to re-marry............ , but if she were to marry someone who had children of their own, those step children would not, because they are not related to you".
