Well if you are looking for a cheap prenup service before planning your wedding, it's obvious that you don't intend to marry in the pretty C of E church near to you or your intended!

If you were, you would find that the legally-binding words of the marriage service include these :-
" ‘I, (name), take you, (name)
    to be my wife/husband,
    to have and to hold
    from this day forward;
    for better, for worse,
    for richer, for poorer,

    in sickness and in health,
    to love and to cherish,
    till death us do part,
    according to God’s holy law.
In the presence of God I make this vow."

As others have said - why bother? Might just as well live over the brush if you don't trust each other.

They don't exist because in English law prenups are not recognised.

They can provide an indication of intentions, but the court will weigh it up against the length of marriage, basically after 3 years it's worthless

    This simply isn't true.
Pre-nups are recognised in English Law. They are not legally enforceable, (i.e. a pre-nup does not form a binding contract)

There is no cut off after 3 years. It is correct that a pre-nup will carry less weight over time, unless you choose to review it, and that a court also has to weigh other factors, in deciding what is fair and reasonable.

However, in order for a pre-nup to be taken seriously by a court, you need to comply with certain conditions. These include each taking independent legal advice, which is why a 'cheap template' isn't going to help very much.
All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)

I choose cheap because even an expensive agreement has a good chance of having little weight in court.

Rather than discussing the merit of my OP or intentions I would really appreciate links or names of legal forms that may help.

Sounds to me like OP's wife-to-be is the one insisting on a prenup!

What you have quoted is not actually the legally required stuff, just additonal church wording.

I quote from the site referred to in my post, which is https://www.yourchurchwedding.org/article/wedding-vows/

"Can we write our own vows?

The official vows cover all those things we hope for from a good marriage and are legally binding
, so they can not be changed. However, there may be some special, additional things you and your partner want to say to each other in this setting.

Some couples have done this by writing something as an additional reading, or using poetry or an extract from a book to say those things in a personal way. The vicar can advise you on how your ideas could work well as part of the service."
  • This thread is really worrying as i have no prenup agreement. So this morning I asked my wife if she married me for my money.

She replied of course not, if she wanted my money she would divorce me.

    I feel much happier now.

Going in to a marriage and having a pre-nup to me says that from the offset you have very little confidence in staying together

For me if there were doubts like this then I would'nt be getting married in the first place. If alarm bells are ringing already then you need to listen to them

For the record I am happily married and have been for six years
