With all due respect, OP didn't buy from amazon.

However, my post was just pointing out that even if there was an agreed contract, it can be void for unilateral mistake. So, what was wrong with what I said?

The Seller is asking the buyer to send a cancellation request - as they can then cancel the sale without hurting their seller metrics.

If the seller just cancelled the sale pre posting (as they can do, its a little button in the account), this goes as a defect on their account for pre-delivery cancellation,.

They are trying to save their account (if they sold a few at this price error and cancelled them all, they could easily be suspended by Amazon, as the metrics are quite strict on this)
  • I have had this before. A wooden swing and slide set advertised for £45. Should have been £450. Also got the cancellation request. Amazon is not a sale until dispatch. They have picked up the error before sending it out
