West Central Scotland here. Heating has been on the odd night for an hour, but that is normal for a Southern softy. I detest being cold.

I think we all have different interpretations of what is hot and cold.

    Mine is something like this:

    45+ Roasting
    35-44 Hot
    30-34 Very warm
    25-29 Warm
    20-24 OK
    15-19 Just about OK
    10-14 Chilly
    5-9 Cold
    1-4 Very cold
    0- Freezing

Strange how different people run on different thermostats isn't it.

    45+ Nope, just no
    35-44 nope.
    30-34 too ruddy hot
    25-29 uncomfortably hot
    20-24 hot
15-19 comfortable bordering on too warm
    10-14 perfect
    5-9 a bit chilly
    1-4 nippy
    0 - cold

Which is why I hate summer.

  • I was thinking that I felt chilly just now, I'm wearing shorts and a vest top, though, so that might be the reason.

I'm going to get a cardigan.:) I'm definitely putting the heating on this early.

12c here in Brighton this morning at 05:45 when I left work, had the heating on in the car. Had all the windows closed at night for a few weeks. Last time it was hot was in June. Worst summer ever- although being saying that every year since 2007. Took me six hours Wednesday last week to put the bins out it was raining that hard. Off to Florida soon......

Been leaving the electric towel rail on overnight for dry towel and warm-ish bathroom in the morning. Occasionally had the radiator on in the living room especially when it's raining outside.

Our heating system is simply set to a certain temperature throughout the year and it kicks in whenever the thermostat registers that the ambient has dropped below it.

We have family in Australia. Last time we stayed with them (in the summer), the aircon was turned on twice in the month we were there despite daytime outside temperatures in the mid 30s to low 40s.

Otherwise the front and back door was left open to let a draft through the house.

It's surprising how quickly your body adapts to the heat... if you let it.
