I've put on a vest :-D0

I have added one thin blanket to my bed, I'm also shutting the back door after being in maybe a hour after work instead of it staying open till I go to bed.0

Not the heating; we're on the cool side but not worried, but our guests from Bavaria (where it's currently 35℃+) have had the fire on in their room all night. The weather here has been strange, cold in the day and warm and stuffy at night. I have been tempted a few times to throw a few logs in the fire but I haven't given in yet. I'm out of heating oil but heating will be tested when its filled but I'm hoping to manage with my fire for awhile. I have dug out the sofa blankets tho.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Nope, doors and windows open at 5.30/6am and only closing if we go out or go to bed, even then all the upstairs windows are open to create a through breeze. We're on the edge of the cliffs on the south east coast and so far we've missed all the manky weather everyone else has been having.
My heating stays off most of the year, we have an open fire in the living room which heats the house well and we layer up. If the house feels cold and damp, open a few windows and get some air in and put another layer on. My DDs grew up knowing that jumpers, thick socks and slippers were the first to reach for and then snuggle under a blanket if you're still chilly.
I appreciate that there are certain groups of people that need to stay toasty warm but that's not the majority of people that reach for the thermostat before putting on a few more layers."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

I think we all have different interpretations of what is hot and cold.
Mine is something like this:
45+ Roasting
35-44 Hot
30-34 Very warm
25-29 Warm
20-24 OK
15-19 Just about OK
10-14 Chilly
5-9 Cold
1-4 Very cold
0- Freezing0
