    Cheers, all.

Strangely, when I go to Help/About, Firefox tells me that v54.0.1 is up-to-date.

Well, FF just prompted me to install v55.0.2 and... all the issues are gone and it works perfectly! (Or it seems to.)

    Yay! :)

I gave this a try on my (Windows 10) laptop last night ... I opened FF (not used it for ages), looked at Help | About and it said I have v47.something and that it was up to date!

I've always noticed that Firefox delays updating major versions (i.e. the digits before the decimal point in the version number). I've occasionally resorted to manual downloads, but the updates do seem to appear eventually. :-/
