Holiday Refund when Passport not valid

Hello Experts!
I booked a 6 nights holiday to Dubai through Expedia, it includes flights, hotel and car rental. I paid for everything with my VISA credit card and I've got world wide travel insurance with Nationwide.
It turned out that my passport will expire in 4 months from the date I would enter UAE. Emirates airlines told me that if I travel for less than 3 months then my passport will only need to be valid for at least 3 months. The same information can be found on their website
https://www.emirates.com/uk/english/before-you-fly/visa-passport-information/find-visa-requirements.aspx

Unfortunately UAE embassy couldn't confirm what Emirates airlines said, instead they said that I will need minimum 6 months passport validity and they will not accept temporary 12 months passport. It is now too late for me to get new passport issued.
It seems like I have two options, first test my luck and just go and see what happens, second try to get refund.
My questions is what chances have I got of getting a refund? The reservation is non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or changed.

Everyone before they travel anywhere, should have a look at the FCO Travel Advice for the Entry Requirements for all countries they intend visiting, before committing any money...

Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into the UAE. If you hold a residence permit, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months in order to travel into the country.
If you just try your luck, you probably won't get past check-in at the UK airport.

Thank you for your reply. I know that now and I learnt my lesson. Have you got a clue if there is a chance of getting a refund or partial one? I only booked it couple days ago and the holiday is scheduled for 30/08/17.0 -
UK passport? - Time to get a fast-track application-in then!

Surely that's enough time to get a new Passport? Someone will be along shortly to tell you how, or you can start yourself by using the Forum Search.0

Is this a case of buyers remorse?
If I wanted to go I would simply renew my passport.0 -

I could only get temporary non bio-metric passport valid for 12 months in time but UAE embassy said they don't accept them.0 -

If Emirates are using the the visa check TIMATIC then its correct that if you are visiting for less than 3 months then you only need at least 3 months validity on your Polish passport same for UK passports.
IATA website says the same, its a bit long winded though.

The FCO visa help can be incorrect.0
