Best holiday destinations for children, hotels etc.

Hi,

I'm looking to take my son who's 6 on holiday abroad next year. I have no idea where to go but obviously somewhere good for kids, and safe.

He's in school but refuse to pay more for the school holiday's.
I've looked for a thread for this but can't find one, if there is one I apologize and would be grateful for the link.

Thank you!

Fly to Reus in Spain and stay at Salou. There's a water park Port Aventura and Ferrari Land nearby.

Have they knocked all the castles and old towns down in Spain? There were thousands the last time I went (start of August :-) )

Six year olds of my acquaintance are not much into museums. Plus depending on when you travel, Malta is terrifically hot in the summer months. Not much fun strolling around in the heat with a young child.

Tenerife or similar. Canaries are typically cooler than Mediterranean so more pleasant in mid-summer.

Plenty of family friendly resorts, accommodation choices to suit every pocket and style, water parks if you want them, and just generally a nice, safe feel.

Sorry can't do a link but maybe you mean threads like 'School Holiday Fines ' which you'll find on the Marriage, Relationships and Families board. They tend to be all about parents justifying why they should take their children out of school.

This board will give you suggestions for where you might go.

The moral issue of whether your child should take more holiday on top of the existing 13 weeks is your decision to make.

Benidorm has an old town and there's the old town of nearby Altea.
    Marbella has an old town.
