Checking the OP's thread start history might yield some clues as to where that comment came from. :)
;discussion/5692364]Again, going back to business, if I incorrectly specify a rate (unless of course its blatantly a mistake) then I'd have to swallow it. There would be bob hope and no hope of getting it upped at the last moment.
If your contract T&Cs included E&OE then Mr. Hope may still be living. ;)

Ah, but Bob Hope is cockney rhyming slang for something else that chills you out man.

Now I would suggest taking certain posters advice with a pinch of salt. If you check their posting history you will find a long string of vitriol and nasty comments to everyone.

It takes all sorts I suppose.
;72961425]Well I've not parted with any money yet so nothing is booked in effect. All they have is my emailed agreement and booking form but this was before he amended the price.

Not quite sure whether I'm going to just say sorry Im not booking now or leave it and let him sweat for a bit then pull out.
So.... almost a week on - what did you do or have decided to do about the booking?

Yes, we're all waiting with baited breath. And when's the book out?
;discussion/5692364]Got a quote for florida villa renta using homeaway. Got a very good price for someone - it seemed they had a 19 day spare slot and we wanted 17 days rental.

So a few emails back and fore asking a few things. All this time there is a header on the email with dates etc. I even confirmed price and dates manually.

So I agree to rent fill out the booking form. Ask for bank details to pay. Suddenly guy tells me "sorry made a mistake, I thought the rental was 14 days so its going to be more". £250 more.

Nice try. Oldest trick in the book. . .
Not that much evidence that it's a trick. Rather that whoever you were dealing with is an idiot. The duration under-estimate could be an honest mistake, but the situation's not helped by the dishonesty of the suggested off-the-books transaction.

Not sure why you're even bothering, because if you can't trust an accommodation provider to manage simple math you sure as heck can't trust 'em with anything else. You seem to be looking at rentals at £83 a day; there are plenty of 'em in Florida without wasting your time on idiots.
