Sounds awful. Will she be fitting a pink fluffy toilet seat cover too?

I would suggest making sure that whatever you use is easy to remove afterwards.

Throw a few teaspoons into whatever paint you're using.

Don't forget the fluffy toilet seat and disco ball; the devil is in the details.

Done it for a customer, it adds more of a sparkle to the finished paint rather than glitter.

Works well, best to stir paint with a powered paddle to get fully mixed in.

If you're going to do it, I say go the whole hog and choose wallpaper.

You can get plain glitter or glittery patterns for a bit more interest.

Mind you, I can talk. Years ago, I invited Gary Glitter to visit my class of 10 year olds and read them a story!

    Luckily, he didn't reply. :D

I have used the stuff from B&Q that goes with their Valspar range of paint.

I used it to paint our daughters bunk beds into a frozen theme. I used a light sky blue with the silver glitter. The glitter is very fine and actually gives a nice effect (for a kids bunk bed), but I'm not sure I would want it on all my walls. B&Q had a sample in store of a plum purple with gold glitter in and that looked pretty nice too, though I would still only use it on a feature wall or something. It's kind of like a shimmer effect, and quite subtle.

One thing to note, you need to fold the glitter into the paint. Do not stir it in or it will just move to the outside of the tin. You also need to use it in a short space of time. When I tried to use the same paint a couple of weeks later the glitter had settled and it was impossible to mix it back in.

My advice is not to do it!!!! We used some in the bedroom a few yeas ago and realised it was awful within a couple of days. Took some serious rubbing down and several coats to obliterate it!

    This.

If and when you come to sell the place I'd imagine the number of buyers who'd regard a glittery bathroom as a positive selling point is somewhat on the small side.
