The US is often a bell weather for the UK. Vanguard has recently increased it's services in the UK and is selling a range of low cost passive funds directly to the investor. I expect other companies will start to offer more low cost passive funds as money flows out of active funds and we might see more direct sales undercutting the brokerage platforms.“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”0 -
Well, Vanguard had already lowered the price already this year in the LifeStrategy products, you would think there will be some other reductions around the corner for those of us outside of the US, from the likes of Fidelity etc.0

Fidelity has just sent out letters to advise on some changes, unfortunately not on the 0.35% charge, however you can now buy shares and hold cash from dividends to set against the platform costs. I've not had time as yet to read the rest of the new terms.0

Having read the information, the one thing that strikes me, and I am curious about is....

In the Fortune article, is a "buyout offer" American for voluntary redundancy? The Yanks even make unemployment sound like a capitalist opportunity.0
