Better than "downsizing", "rightsizing" or "riffing", not least because the word "buyout" at least implies they got some compensation - as I understand it, Americans do not have a statutory right to redundancy payments.0

“Resource Action” was the euphemism of choice when I took redundancy, leading to the expression “I’ve been RA’d”.0

Fidelity has just sent out letters to advise on some changes, unfortunately not on the 0.35% charge, however you can now buy shares and hold cash from dividends to set against the platform costs. I've not had time as yet to read the rest of the new terms.
I deposited £200 cash for the charges a couple of years ago as I preferred not to have my portfolio 'raided' to pay the fees. After a couple of months I bought a fund with it. It has paid all my charges since and is showing a £30 odd profit as well!
On a separate ISA with CoFunds my £200 has been used up over the same period and a bit late in the day I'm repeating my fund purchase action.0
