I got 98, but didn't see some of the questions being discussed here, so not everyone is being asked the same set.

I definitely got the "quality check" wrong (misread the question), but I disagree about the "IT incidents average" one. They don't say what the right answer is supposed to be, I said it was "mode". Since 15 is definitely the mode (3 occurences - all other values only have one), the only other possible correct answer is "median and mode". But there are 3 occurrences greater than 15 and only one below, so that can't be right ...

I got this question too, but the question asked what type of average is 16 - so it was the mean.

    99. made the stupidest mistake in the world using the wrong dataset for the "which quarter had lowest cost per project" - i swapped the primary and secondary y axis :(

Definitely wouldn't contend any of the other question answer validity - i can see where some were tricky and may catch you out if you don't pay attention though!

I did the same for that question
  • Pink Shoes the answer is wrong because you are taking 20% off the gross price but the VAT is 20% off the nett price. £899 is therefore 120% of the nett price so to get the VAT you would divide 899 by 120 and then times by 20.

I did need pen and paper for a few though!
  • Using a calculator for a numeracy test?!
  • I got 98 overall score, I got 3 wrong. I did use a calculator, however it's a command line reverse polish calculator program called "dc". I can still see all the calculations I did to get the answers, so I know exactly where I went wrong.

Numbers And The Number System: Got the 1:200 scale for 5.8m wrong. For some reason I multiplied 5.8 by 1000 to get from metres to centimetres.

    Operations And Calculations: 100

Handling Information: 98 - On the mean cost per project question, I kept getting confused and picking the wrong measure off the graph. Originally I only got 2 of the 4 calculations of the means correct. Picked Q3 instead of Q2 (both of which were the wrong answers).

Shape, Space And Measures: 95 - I chose the *lightest* person (Corinna). OFC Karl is the heaviest. I should learn to read questions properly.

Being Numerate: 98 - Doesn't show me my wrong answer here.

In my defense, all the questions I got wrong were while I was doing it surreptitiously at work ;-)
  • 100 ... no calculators, no pens, no paper, just mental maths 😉

I thought the maximum attendance at the 3 football matches question was wrong - or at best debatable. I was always taught that 5's rounded to the nearest even number (i.e. both 19500 and 20500 round to 20000). Looking it up on the internet, I see that this is not necessarily a hard and fast rule, so more than one answer would be valid.
  • 20% of 899 is indeed 179.80, like you said. However, you aren't looking for 20% of the end price because that is of course more than the start price. Your calculation should be X x 1.2 = 899. X being the cost ex VAT. Hope I've worded this right for you.
