My wireless mouse has just started acting funny after 2 years, doing the same as my previous wireless mouse that this replaced, I got it replaced from Amazon.

This time they won't replace it as the guarantee is finished as the guarantee was continued from the first mouse bought nearly 5 years ago.

That mouse replaced another one which went funny as well.

Even a wired mouse doesn't seem to last long as the wire always manages to become faulty.

So are mice built to break 2 weeks after the guarantee runs out?

It's a Logitech M185
over 73 but not over the hill.

I've been using an M185 in a work environment 5 days a week for over 5 years without a problem.

If you are seeing a problem with wired as well it sounds more like the way you are treating it.

The wired ones were my grandson pulling the wire that's why I switched to wireless ones.

  • Have all three faulty mice been optical?

Because I would agree, three "blind" mice sounds a bit funny.

Iv been using a Logitech M310 for a couple of years and it hasnt missed a beat ..
We have other versions dotted about in a few offices and iv never had a problem with any of them ..

When you say "its gone funny" - could you describe the symptoms ?
I assume it is part of a wireless and keyboard set .. ?

    Is the keyboard ok ?

Could there be something in proximity that is interferring with the wireless signal ?

OP, have you thought about putting a new battery in the mouse?

I have thought about it, yes.

left clicking sometimes does not do anything, also selecting a row of cells in excel will suddenly become one cell dragged to the end of a row.

While playing solitaire and moving a column it will suddenly be dropped.

When editing a word trying to place the cursor in the word does not work.

It's probably interference, a guy I used to work with had the same issue, it was at certain times of day.

One thing worth checking is what WiFi channels are in use in the area, i've noticed on numerous occasions that when a WiFi network is running on channel 11, it screws about with all manner of wireless devices.

Food , mice eat all the detritus on your surface , dust , etc. The only cure is to use a wired cat
