For the R4 to work it also requires a micro SD memory card to sore your files.

Please could someone explain the R4 thing to me? I've just got myself a DS lite (to train my brain!) and have been looking at the various games available, and some are so expensive!!

Have done a google search like some members have suggested, but I'm still not understanding what it's all about.

Please someone help......

R4 cartridges are basically blank Nintendo cartridges. The idea is that you "aquire" games either off the Internet or from knowledgable friends. Then you download them onto the R4 card which then happily plays them.

Given one game is like £20 from shops and an R4 cartridge is about £30-£40, its obvious why people are using them.

Its totally illegal of course to download games or pirate them from friends. However, so is recording music from CD's/radio. Doesn't stop people doing it, even though its illegal. I'm not condoning it. Just stating a fact.

this is probably a stupid question but can you use the r4 with any sd card..

i mean can you have several sd cards and just slot them in and use them or do you need a r4 for each one .. i hope that makes sense...

i already have an r4 and card in it so can i just buy another micro sd card and use the r4 i already have..

i hope you know what i am on about ... sorry..

i would be grateful for advice if anyone knows

Its got to be a Transflash card.

The M3 works with Micro SDHC (High Capacity) cards. Not too sure on the R4 though, I'm sure it takes the regular transflash ones though. Check the website.

yes you only need 1 x R4 card.

1 R4 cart and a memory card up to 2GB you can fit about 50+ games on a 2GB micro sd card

I dont think the R4 supports SDHC and the M3 is the same hardware inside so I wouldnt be too sure about that either. the TTDS doe but the card isnt as well made as the R4 and M3

I have an M3 and it supports SDHC. I've got a 4gb one in mine so I can chuck a load of music onto it. I'm fairly sure the M3 doesn't work with Moonshell though which is really annoying.
