No ignition on boiler

Hi all I am new here but here's the problem .
I have a 1991 Worcester 350 rsf combi, NG.. I know its ancient but I wont give up on it yet ! [IMG]
The boiler won't ignite (CH or HW) because the fan at the top isn't kicking in.
I have checked the voltage to the fan and its zero
I have gone through the troubleshooting procedure with a test meter and its telling me at the end to replace the main board.
I am pretty confident that this is the correct prognosis but I need to be sure before I splash out on a service exchange board.
Is there anything I might have missed in trying to remedy this problem before I go any further ???
Any help here would be very much appreciated
Thanks all.

Something you missed?
The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 perhaps?

Assuming your ancient boiler has a pilot light, the normal problem is a faulty thermocouple.0
