I have my settings set to show 20 threads per page and there are usually about 8 pages a day posted - so that is about 160 posts a day - each one usually a new competition.

Obviously they are not all suitable, but you will definately find more than 10 you want to enter!

w/out wanting to go too far off topic here, I wonder if your name affects your chances in a draw? I'm guessing most comps use form of software to run the draw, rather than literally picking a name out of a hat.

I'm pretty sure it's just down to luck no matter what your e-mail address is. I've only had one confirmation e-mail and had to chase that after seeing my name on the winners list of the "Baileys" comp. Had a few other wins none of which e-mailed me, they just arrived in the post.

Most of us 'regular compers' enter at least 100 comps per day (don't forget daily, weekly and monthly comps) all from on here. During the week new comps are added throughout the day, there are less at weekends. The more you enter the more chance you have of winning!

A lot of comps email you and ask for confirmation of delivery address, so for those the email is very important.

Admittedly, lots of others just arrive!

The email addresss I use for comps is a series of letters and numbers@btinternet. Strangely enough some comps are very fussy with what email address they will accept. Some have refused the btinternet address yet accepted either my work email or a msn one.

I'd definitely change the 'junk' part of the address. I would say that that would send any email straight into the bulk box with a good chance of getting lost or deleted.

How do you keep track of them, e.g. what you've entered, and what you haven't.

The easiest thing(for the majority of us) is just to press the 'thanks' button. It shows you have entered the comp so you know not to re-enter if you come acrooss it again. A lot of us are on and off here most of the day and enter them as they are posted. Its difficult when you miss a day as you can have 8 pages or more to catch up on :eek:
To a new comper the best advice would be to start at the last page and work your way forward. You're not going to manage to enter all of them before the closing date as there are so many of them but if you can keep a constant look out every day(don't know your day to day life) even if you have to catch up for a few hours every night its worth it. It can take a while for the wins to start but it will become an obsession as i'm sure a lot of the others would agree - but a good obsession!

Thanks! Really good advice. I'll be entering lots of competitions from now on ehen.

I won my first one about 3 months ago, I've only entered about 30. I won the 10 wispa bars just before they were released.

I still have one left too!
