kirsteenatom - I spend some of my lunch break doing comps, butI don't do the email comps from work, as I don't want to use my work email for non-work purposes.

Instead, I send myself an email (to my home email address) and I copy and paste in all the comp thread urls which need email entries, and I click the Thanks button there and then so I know I don't need to look at these posts again.

When I catch up with my emails in the evening, I just go through the urls I've emailed to myself and do the email comps then. It doesn't really take that much longer, and if you set up a signature (brilliant idea, btw - I'll definitely be doing that!) then it'll be as easy as entering online comps :)

    hope this helps

kirsteen, feel free to post questions etc like this, definitely not my intention for anyone to feel they can't post comments when they want!

Wasn't trying to be blunt, all I was trying to say is that it's hard to remember things like that when I'm posting lots of comps etc. :)

    too many comps..not enough time!

Why don't you post a load of competitions the way you think is best, and see how it works in practise, and what feedback you get.

How about approaching this from a different angle Kirsteen?

I used to hate doing the email comps but then I saved my details as a signature & now when I click for a new email (either on a comp link or on my Outlook), the signature appears on the email.

All I have to do when I am not sending in a comp is a quick swipe with the mouse to highlight & hit the delete key - details are gone ready for me to write a 'normal' email :)

If it helps I have the following saved:

    Answer:

    Name
    Add
    Add
    Add
    Add
    Add

    mobile no.

    email addy

Again, if the comp just needs an email (with no answer) I just delete the 'Answer:' from the email which moves my address up a bit & then I hit send. Or if they only want the answer, name, address & phone number another quick swipe with the mouse, hit the delete key & sorted!

It literally takes a few seconds, quicker even than most website entries :)

Hope this helps, as it saved me so much time when I thought of it! :D

How clever are you, thanks for this great tip - saved me hours :j

    Hiya Kirsteen

Thanks for the suggestion, and no one in any way is stopping you from posting them, but its really down to the individual poster/contributor as to whether they take the idea on as they are doing quite a big job anyway finding the comps and providing the answers

I think VG's idea of an email sig is fab and maybe you should give that a try first

I'll move this up to the discussion board now

:rotfl: :rotfl: aw poor you! Sunday nights have become interesting now that theres some decent telly on - we watch the dancing results, then top gear and then long way down. Don't know whether you ever saw long way round - it was great - this time it doesn't seem to be quite as good but its still great to watch.
So, did you get upto anything over the weekend? (apart from the obvious) :D
